Eddie Van Halen and Fender have joined forces to bring you EVH® brand guitars, amps and musical products, beginning with a most eagerly awaited musical event: the unveiling of a 300-instrument limited edition run of the Eddie Van Halen Frankensteinreplica electric guitar. This red, black and white ash-body guitar has been put through an astounding aging process to replicate the original down to every last scratch, ding and cigarette burn. Fender craftsmen even scoured the land for 1971 quartersjust like the original Eddie stuck under the original tremolo bridge near the Floyd Rose® Original tremolo bridge. The guitar features a Seymour Duncan® Custom Shop EVH® humbucking pickup, a single master volume knob (that's labeled "Tone") mounted on a partial black pickguard identical to the original. Replicating the original, there's a non-functional three-way switch and single-coil pickup that occupy two of the three pickup cavities. It's a phenomenally crafted piece of rock historyof guitar history, periodand it could only come from Eddie Van Halen and the talented resources of Fender. It simply must be seen, heard and felt to be believed, and it will re-evoke the awestruck wonder and sheer thrill you experienced the first time you saw, heard and felt the incredible musical power of Eddie Van Halen.

Many great off-the-shelf electric guitars have had their reputations elevated by the legendary artists who have played them. Once in a while, however, a heavily modified Gibson guitar is used to make such groundbreaking music that the erstwhile "one-off" becomes iconic in and of itself. The best known and most revered of these is arguably Jeff Beck's Oxblood Les Paul guitar. Now, Gibson Custom unveils the most accurate re-creation of the Jeff Beck Oxblood Les Paul ever produced, from its Oxblood finish to the custom-tailored neck profile modeled precisely from Beck's original instrument to the blistering and powerful sounds produced by Gibson's legendary BurstBucker humbucking pickups. The Gibson Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 Guitar is available in very limited numbers. The first 50 of these historic electric guitars will be carefully aged by the master luthiers at Gibson Custom to look exactly like Beck's original, then personally hand-signed, numbered and played by Beck himself. It includes a specially produced Gibson Custom case with Beck's signature silkscreened on the top and a certificate of authenticity.History British guitarist Jeff Beck made a big name for himself right from the start. After stepping into very big shoes in The Yardbirds as Eric Clapton's replacement, he left to form The Jeff Beck Group with Ron Wood and Rod Stewart in 1967, all before the age of 25. Moving into the 1970s, Beck began forging his reputation as a solo artistand one of the hottest guitarists of his generationwith a Gibson Les Paul as his leading guitar of choice. And like so many legendary guitars, the Gibson Les Paul in question made its way into Beck's hands not through an endorsement deal, or a gift from the manufacturer, but through the lucky happenstance of some downtime being killed with a little browsing at a local music shop. While recording in Memphis, Beck paid a visit to the popular Strings and Things guitar store to check out the stock. Beck's attention was immediately drawn to a 1954 Gibson Les Paul (occasionally reported to be an early 1955 model), which was to receive some very specific modifications.Body The first request was to replace the guitar's original Goldtop finish with a deep chocolate-brown color that turned out to exhibit some oxblood tints in certain light. Other mods to this Gibson Custom Les Paul included the installation of full-size humbucking pickups in place of the original P-90s, altering the full and rounded early '50s neck shape to a slightly thinner profile, and swapping the original tuners for modern replacements. Legend has it that the customer didn't like the results… but Jeff Beck did. He purchased the modified Les Paul from Strings and Things and played it extensively on the road and in the studio. It would go on to be etched into the minds of millions as Beck's guitar as seen on his milestone 1975 album, Blow By Blow. A tone legend was born. The

This emotive addition to the Custom Shop Tribute Series is an intricate reproduction of Lenny down to the smallest of details from the customized neck that was a gift from ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, the reflective SRV stickers on the body, the battered headstock to the autograph that Stevie himself etched into the neck plateeven an autograph from legendary baseball great, Mickey Mantle. The original Lenny guitar is a universally recognizable Fender Stratocaster, best known for its uniquely bright and powerful tone and known as one of Stevie Ray Vaughan's favorite instruments throughout his entire career. The guitar itself has an almost mystical heritage that can be traced back to the very beginning of Vaughan's rise to stardom.Lenny's body is similarly storied; its most notable feature is a batwing-shaped inlay believed to be from a 1910 mandolin pickguard and reproduced in exact detail for the replica. The original sunburst finish was removed by heavy sanding, giving Lenny a much more rounded, smoother and softer contoured body than any Strat before or since. Subsequently refinished, the original sunburst finish still peeks through the clear mahogany lacquer. It's easy to imagine Vaughan pulling into a truck stop and adding the SRV stickers to the shrunken, warped and cracked pickguard. The Custom Shop has recreated that ensemble with remarkable authenticity. The pickguard hides yet more treasuresa humbucking pickup cavity, unusually routed in the middle position, and a haphazardly wired control pot assembly with tone pots mounted in reverse. Re-creating the non-original bridge and strap-lock hardware is further evidence of the fastidious attention to detail. Ultimately, however, it's all about Vaughan's music, and he summed Lenny up best when he said, "It's always meant a lot to me. And I love what it sounds like." Stevie Ray Vaughan was just a struggling young guitarist in Austin, Texas, in 1980, when his wife, Lenora 'Lenny' Vaughan, gave him a used Stratocaster that had recently caught his eye in a local pawnshop. It was a 1965 Fender Stratocaster guitar with the original pickups that, from the look of it, had seen better days. Although it began life as a three-color sunburst model, it had obviously been refinished (none too expertly) at some point, and now it had a dark natural finish bearing an elaborate inlay in the body behind the bridge. Nonetheless, there was something about it that clearly and immediately resonated deeply with Vaughan. As Vaughan himself said during an interview published in the Feb. 1990 issue of Guitar Player magazine: It's called Lenny. I found it at a pawnshop and didn't have the money to buy it, and my wife and several other friends of mine put a pool together and bought the guitar. It's always meant a lot to me. And I love what it sounds like. "Riviera Paradise" and "Lenny" (Texas Flood) are both played on the same guitar

The depth and mellowness of the Gibson L-5 CES is winning acclaim for this fine jazz guitar from the most discriminating artists. The tonal quality of the acoustic guitar and the advantages of an electric are combined in one instrument. Very few carved guitars are built each year because of the scarcity of the wood required and the handcrafting involved. The building of the L-5s is overseen by Jim Hutchins, a Gibson Builder since 1963. The process has remained relatively unchanged since the 1950s, including the hand-tuning of the top and back. Guitarists sing the praises of the comfortable vintage neck; the fast, easy action; and the rich beauty of the carved spruce top. Other features on the Gibson guitar include a figured, carved maple back with solid maple rims; a pearl inlaid ebony fingerboard; and beautiful multi white-black binding. With the creation of the L-5 in the 1920s, the modern archtop guitar was invented and it has set the standard for all carved guitars that have followed. To most guitar and blues aficionados, Michael Bloomfield was more than just a renowned, big-city blues guitarist. A session player who was weaned on Chicago's legendary south side blues, Bloomfield forever altered American-based blues with his bold and passionate guitar playing. The master craftsmen at Gibson Custom have introduced the much-anticipated Michael Bloomfield Aged 1959 Les Paul Standard, an accurate recreation of the instrument Bloomfield used to create the legendary "Bloomfield Sound." The Michael Bloomfield Aged 1959 Les Paul Standard faithfully captures that celebrated tone, along with every precious detail of the original. Starting with the Les Paul's traditional hand-carved maple top and solid, non-weight relieved mahogany back, this instrument is pure Gibson, right down to such time-honored appointments like CTS potentiometers and bumble-bee capacitors, holly headstock veneer, Grover kidney tuners and a rounded neck profile similar to those on the original Les Pauls from 1959. The Michael Bloomfield Aged Les Paul is fitted with a Gibson BurstBucker 1 pickup in the neck position and BurstBucker 2 pickup in the bridge position. BurstBuckers are among the most accurate vintage "PAF" reproductions that Gibson has ever conceived, right down to the irregular windings from coil to coil and their lack of potting, two ingredients that contribute to an authentic late-'50s and early '60s humbucker tone. This special reissue is available in a limited release of only 100 guitars and will be "aged" by renowned finish and restoration artist Tom Murphy, to look exactly like the finish on Bloomfield's original Les Paul. This was achieved through the careful examination of hundreds of photos of the original. This signature model comes with a standard Gibson Custom case silkscreened with Bloomfield's signature, a custom care kit and certificate of authenticity.
